bookmark_outline
HIDEYUKI NAKAYAMA ARCHITECTURE
Outline
The site of the Claude Monet exhibition currently being held at the Pola Museum of Art (exhibition period: April 17, 2021 - March 30, 2022). Eleven Monet paintings from the museum's collection are installed on three curved walls covered with white corrugated sheets used as exterior materials. LED lights were installed upward on the curved walls, and the entire temporary membrane ceiling was used as an evenly diffused surface for indirect lighting in collaboration with Izumi Okayasu. In this exhibition, the only lighting is from the light itself, and the aim was to create an experience of viewing Monet himself as he faced the canvas in natural light.
