The former Shinano Art Museum (6611, Hayashi Shoji/Nikken Sekkei) was rebuilt, and planned as a "landscape museum" with each floor connected to the surrounding environment at different levels: Zenko Higashi Park, Shiroyama Park, the adjacent Higashiyama Kaii Museum (9005), and the road on the east side of the site. The museum's exhibition and collection functions were expanded to more than three times the size of the old building.
