YUZO OSUMI ARCHITECT OFFICE
Outline
The building consists of three buildings from the front: a shop building, a cafe building, and a laboratory building, each of which uses a different wooden structure. The building is located in a quasi-fireproof area, and the shop building has a shed facing the road to avoid the spread of fire while maintaining the form of a machiya. The use of each of the three buildings that follow at the rear is changed, and the area of each use is kept below 200m2 to avoid interior restrictions. In addition to gradually raising the height of the shop building, which stands on a corner lot, the construction method, materials, and building style are varied by shifting the exterior walls.
