Karuizawa is the second location for Mitsubishi Estate's workcation project, which began in 2018. Following Nanki-Shirahama in Wakayama, which has convenient access from the airport, Karuizawa, which has easy access from Tokyo and abundant tourism resources, was selected as the site. The existing building, which was used as a restaurant adjacent to the roundabout, was renovated and a folly (photo on the right) was added to the building to make it a vacation facility.
