This apartment building consists of nine units in a residential area in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture. Two-story units (50-70m2) are lined up on the south side through a dirt floor, with a common alley in the center. The colors of the roof and exterior walls were determined by sampling the colors of the surrounding houses. The volumes are arranged so that the earthen floor of each unit faces the garden of the surrounding houses.
