As a symbol of the reconstruction of Kamaishi City, the stadium was built on the site of the former Unodome Elementary School and Kamaishi Higashi Junior High School, which were damaged in the earthquake and tsunami, and meets the standards for hosting the Rugby World Cup 2019 (RWC2019). In addition to the stadium functions, the stadium was developed as a park for daily use to revitalize the coastal area. The capacity of the stadium is 6,000 seats (approximately 16,000 seats during RWC2019).
