CHIBA MANABU ARCHITECTS
Outline
Community halls in 10 areas damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake were reconstructed as "Minna no Ie" (House for Everyone), a place of relaxation for the people affected by the disaster. Manabu Chiba Architectural Office (left) and Atelier Bow-Wow (right) were in charge of five districts each. The total floor area of 40, 60, or 100m2 is determined according to the size of the community, and each of these houses also has an evacuation shelter function. The 100m2 type in Kita-Amagi has an entrance porch and a wet veranda facing the cherry trees on the south side of the site. The agricultural warehouse and garden adjacent to the east are also intended to be used together.
