Disaster public housing in the Matate district of Tachino, Minamiaso Village, which was damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake. The housing consists of 40 row-house type units and a meeting hall. The housing units are arranged to take advantage of the difference in elevation of the site, which used to be terraced rice paddies. 3LDK + 2LDK, 2DK + 2LDK, and 1LDK + 2LDK units of different types are planned as one unit. In order to prevent the wind from blowing in the north-south direction which is unique to the region, a short earthen floor and entrance are provided in the east-west direction.
