The site is located in the Higashiyamate district facing Nagasaki Port, in the center of Nagasaki's three sightseeing spots (Glover Garden, Dejima, and Chinatown). The building was reconstructed in two phases by merging the aging Municipal Hospital, which was located on the same site, and the Adult Disease Center, which was located elsewhere. The building is surrounded by a road, so the four walls are made of reinforced concrete and glass stripes, and the surrounding scenery is taken into consideration. The height of the building was limited to 30m under the landscape ordinance, but the first phase building was made 8 stories high by the outer structure and flat slab, and the high acute stage medical care was concentrated.
