This medical facility, which integrates a hospital and a research institute for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, was planned as the core facility of the "Kita Osaka Health and Medical City (Kento)," a medical cluster being developed by Suita City and Settsu City on the site of the former JR Suita Yard. It was hoped that the relocation of hospitals where emergency medical care, such as myocardial infarction and stroke, was important, would improve access to emergency medical care in the city.
