TATO ARCHITECTS
Outline
This is a project to relocate the old Kyoto Minami Kaikan and build a new movie theater. A former bank completed in 1993, which was used as an office by the owner, Iwamoto Kinzoku, was renovated to become a movie theater. Due to landscape restrictions and requests, the existing exterior walls were only minimally altered. The entrance has a staircase facing the stainless steel mesh screen, which is a symbol of the cinema.
