Outline
The museum was built to commemorate the 170th anniversary of Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical's founding, to create an exhibition space that conveys the company's history and the philosophies of its successive managers, and to expand its training and conference functions. Italian sculptor Cecco Bonanotte was in charge of the basic design concept. The building is based on a 4.4 x 4 m grid. The building is constructed based on a 4 x 4 m grid, with void slabs to reduce weight and prestressing to extend the frame. The building is constructed using the SSG method with back mullions to minimize the number of sash windows.
