It will be used for gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampolining during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and for boccia during the Paralympic Games. A wooden structure with a span of approximately 88 m will be hung in the interior space. About 1,500m3 of FSC-certified larch wood (storage capacity of 3-4ha of forest) is used for the tension beams and cantilever trusses. The spectator seats and other rooms will be temporary structures that will not affect the structure.
