A bird's-eye view of the southeast side. This is a project to utilize an abandoned elementary school by the sea in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The school was converted into a hands-on lodging facility that offers programs that take advantage of the natural environment of the Okuma area, such as barbecuing, fishing, SUP (stand-up paddle boarding), sea kayaking, and cycling. The project is managed by Katasudde Corporation, which is headed by Kawabata Yasufumi, an architect from Kanoya City, and includes members of Blue Studio and local residents.
