Outline
This project involves the purchase of the land adjacent to the 22-year-old head office building (right) and the construction of a new extension. A comparison was made between the construction of a new building and an extension to the existing building, and the extension was chosen because of the shading restrictions and the complicated shape of the building. By merging the two sites and constructing an extension, a simple building shape is achieved while absorbing the unused volume of the existing building. The exterior of the building on the front street side is aligned with that of the existing building. The periphery of the frame is cantilevered, and the number of columns is reduced to six to increase flexibility. The longitudinal beams are reversed beams to divide the space and air-conditioning area by the frame of columns and beams.
