This year marks the 60th anniversary of the completion of Tokyo Tower in 1958. The tower has undergone two seismic retrofits between 2001 and 2002 to accommodate digital terrestrial broadcasting facilities. In this renovation, the exterior sashes of the Main Deck (Main Observatory) were replaced (scheduled for completion in 2019), the elevators to the Top Deck (Special Observatory) were upgraded, and the front rooms of each observatory were installed to improve safety in accordance with current regulations.
