Outline
The Kusatsu River, which used to flow into Lake Biwa, was abandoned in 2002, and this commercial facility was built in the Kusatsu River Site Park, the site of the abandoned river, in accordance with the Urban Park Law. As part of a project to revitalize Kusatsu City, which once prospered as a post town where the Nakasendo and Tokaido roads intersected, Kusatsu Machizukuri was established and is now being utilized. The image of the traditional reed thatched roofs of the Lake Biwa area was used to create a nostalgic, original scene for the people of Kusatsu.
