Reconstruction of an elementary and junior high school damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The two-story wooden school buildings are arranged along the slope. The site is located on a steep slope behind a temporary school building built on the ground of the former junior high school, and the designer was selected through a proposal process. By forming a JV with an urban and civil engineering consultant from the proposal stage, it was possible to plan the construction work in consideration of the detailed development plan and the securing of an appropriate construction yard.
