RYUJI FUJIMURA ARCHITECTS
Outline
A public multipurpose complex facing the rotary in front of Omiya Station's east exit, with public toilets and a bicycle parking area for community bicycles on the first floor, and a terrace on the second floor for meeting and resting. The first floor has public toilets and a community bicycle parking area, and the second floor is a terrace where people can meet and take a rest. In designing this project, we held opinion-exchange meetings and questionnaires for citizens at the community station "Machi-Labo Omiya". A questionnaire survey was conducted at "Machi-labo Omiya", a community station for urban development in Omiya. In the future, the building will also be used as an event venue planned and managed by the Urban Design Center Omiya (UDCO), which was launched in April 2017.
