NIHON SEKKEIWAKATAKE TOWN PLANNING RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Outline
The museum was built as a project to replace the old Yamauchi Museum, which owned many materials on the history, culture, and climate of Kochi but had become decrepit. The museum is located in front of the Ote-mon Gate of Kochi Castle, facing the moat and the Otesuji Street that connects Kochi Castle and the Obiyacho Shopping Street. It is located in an important position from the viewpoint of the flow of people and tourism, and a public building that connects the convenience of tourists and the time axis of history and the present age has been created. The upper floor is a museum, and the ground level is a place for people to interact during the weekly Sunday market and Yosakoi Festival.
