YAMAMOTO RYOSUKE ATELIER
Outline
A tea ceremony room and salon built in the sukiya style on the grounds of the Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto. The terrace of the salon overhangs the pond in the garden, which has a history of 800 years. The shed structure of the salon is made of beams made of bent wood from the main building, with connecting beams in between. The position of the joints, the chopping method, and the position of the bolts were decided on the site based on the characteristics of the wood.
