The small-scale multifunctional facility and the Youjiraikan were constructed as part of the "Thinking about the Future of Sakate" project, an activity that began with the Setouchi International Art Festival in 2013. The small-scale, multi-functional facility, newly built on the site of a former elementary school, and the Youjirokan, a renovated kindergarten building, stand across the field from each other and will serve as a base for local interaction for local residents and tourists.
