The YKK Group, which has a manufacturing and development base in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, is planning the first phase of a "passive town" on a former company housing site. It is planned as an energy-saving housing project that makes the most of nature, such as the "wind of love" blowing in the region, solar heat, underground water, and biomass. The residential buildings are arranged in a north-south direction across an open space open to the community, and each unit has a balcony on the south side.
