Outline
Kobato Nursery School started in 1973 as the first unlicensed nursery school in Fukuoka for children after maternity leave, and became a licensed nursery school in 2003. The nursery was later relocated due to aging and earthquake resistance issues. The playroom is a 15 x 11 m wood-framed space. A large beam 18 m long and 1.2 m high is hung on the diagonal, and two roofs are placed based on this beam. The building is designed to have a fire-resistance rating of 1 hour (45 mm for both columns and beams).
