bookmark_outline
MIYAGI REGION, TOHOKU CHAPTER, THE JAPAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS
Outline
The Miyagi Regional Association of the Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) is providing support to the residents of Kitakami-cho, Ishinomaki City, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake when the town was relocated to higher ground. The Kitakami Community Planning Committee was established as a mechanism for reflecting the will of local residents in reconstruction projects and for the residents themselves to consider the future of Kitakami. The plan is to create a series of open spaces with the direction toward the Kitakami River as the basic axis, and to arrange each facility around the open spaces so that people can feel the bustle from anywhere.
