Outline
A new community center is under construction in Takahama Town, a town with a population of about 11,000 located in the westernmost part of Fukui Prefecture. As part of the town's compact city concept, which aims to create a low-cost, livable town amid a declining population and an aging society, the town government has decided to build a government office and a community center in an integrated manner on town-owned land in front of Wakasa Takahama Station, where public transportation and a general hospital are easily accessible. The new town hall and community center are intended to play a role as a symbol of the town's future development by passing on the town's scenery, traditions, and techniques to future generations, and to realize the concept of "a town hall and community center open to the citizens".
