N.A.S. ARCHITECTS JV
Outline
The former site of an elementary school that closed in 2014 was reused as an urban exchange facility. The N.A.S.A. design consortium, consisting of architectureWORKSHOP, Spatial Research Institute, ADH, and NASCA, was selected as the proposer, and they are in charge of the veranda, the public space on the first floor of the school building, the bathrooms, the accommodation rooms, the exterior, and the produce market, respectively. In addition, the laboratories of Japan Women's University, Hosei University, and Waseda University, where each of them is a professor, have joined "Welcome to Sawonan," a voluntary organization that considers urban development in Sawonan Town, and are engaged in various activities including this project.
