The station is equipped with a high-pressure gas facility and a showroom for FCVs (fuel cell vehicles), which are produced outside the station and transported by lorry using an off-site system (see page 75). The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) formulated a strategic roadmap for hydrogen and fuel cells in June 2014 to realize a hydrogen society. In recent years, the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, Building Standards Act, and Fire Service Act have been revised, and the areas where hydrogen stations can be installed have been expanded, and the upper limit on the amount of hydrogen that can be held has been eliminated, allowing stations to be used in combination with gas stations.
