Outline
Reconstruction of a kindergarten building. Four lofty nursery buildings are arranged around a playroom, and a second-floor terrace connects the buildings. The building is a two-story wooden structure. The playroom is a large space of 11.7 m beam to beam x 18.0 m girder to girder x 8.9 m height, constructed of standard Japanese cedar lumber (maximum cross section 120 mm x 180 mm, lumber length 4 to 6 m). The upper trapezoidal truss beam enclosing the aerial bridge is supported by the left and right triangular truss columns enclosing the circulation gallery, thereby shortening the span of the roof structure and enabling it to be supported at a high position.
