This is a project to renovate the unused second floor of a teahouse in the central shopping district of Ishinomaki City into a share house, and to connect it to young people who have moved to the area after the Great East Japan Earthquake. 2.0 Real Estate, an offshoot of ISHINOMAKI 2.0 consisting of young local shopkeepers, NPO staff, and various other specialists, is responsible for construction and matching of residents. They read the existing design of the building, which has a history dating back 80 years, such as the transom and the pillars made of logs, and proceeded with the construction while determining what to keep and what to renovate.
