NIHON SEKKEI
Outline
This corporate museum was built in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, the birthplace of the company's founder, as a commemorative project for Yanmar, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012. It is a two-story steel-frame structure. It is composed of a water basin, rooftop greenery and glass to express Yanmar's three business domains: Ocean, Land and City. On the rooftop is a biotope made up of local species that grow in Lake Biwa, where workshops are held for children to learn about the natural ecosystem.
