With the goal of becoming "the best municipal hospital in Japan," the hospital was required to develop an emergency medical center, the only one of its kind in the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture, as well as to further enhance its services as a regional disaster base hospital and a regional cancer treatment base hospital. In addition to the adoption of LED lighting throughout the entire building and improvements in energy-saving performance, such as improved thermal insulation, we are creating a model as a base hospital for disasters. The plan emphasizes the spatial configuration that enhances departmental cooperation, traffic flow planning, and the ease of working for staff.
