KENICHIRO NIZEKI / NIZEKI STUDIO + SHUJI TADA
Outline
This four-story reinforced concrete building stands at the corner of a green promenade and a roadway, with offices on the first floor and residences on the second through fourth floors. The first floor is for offices, and the second through fourth floors are for residences. The space is created by fitting reinforced concrete boxes together vertically, and the surfaces created by the misalignment of the boxes are used as openings as needed. In contrast to the usual flat greenery that spreads underfoot, WKB creates a three-dimensional green garden. Using the misalignment of the boxes, a three-dimensional garden is created with planters with rain and sun falling down, and these planters are arranged to connect to the roof.
