Outline
This is a rental housing complex with 33 units. A soy sauce factory used to stand there before the Great Kanto Earthquake, and the exterior design and volume of the building have been retained to restore the scenery of that time. To the right is the Hanegi International Garden House (design: Kitayama Kojiro + K Planning Office, this issue 0802). The existing trees are kept almost as they are, and some of them are transplanted. A path runs through the house while avoiding the trees. The exterior walls of the building are covered with red cedar boards, stucco, and wooden fittings to create a variety of colors and expressions.
