ATELIER SOTARO YAMAMOTO
Outline
Reconstruction of a temple that is over 300 years old. It consists of a main hall, a guest hall, and a storehouse (residence of the priest). While the main hall is constructed using traditional wooden construction methods with joints and fittings, the design is not limited to any particular style. Decorative elements such as metal fittings and relief carvings are not used, and the structure is composed of pillars and beams. The columns and beams are joined by traditional joints (some of them use bolts).
