TAIRA NISHIZAWA ARCHITECTS
Outline
A renovated pachinko parlor that was once a central facility in the city center. It is a black exhibition space for photography and video art, bathed in the gentle light of Naoshima. The existing façade, which was familiar to local residents, was preserved, and the space was planned to be used as an integral part of the adjacent park. The louvers on the ceiling of the exhibition room change their color and shade according to the sunlight from above.
