Located in the central part of the city of Hashi, the city purchased a commercial facility that was closed in 2006 and converted it into a municipal art museum. Of the existing nine-story building with one basement floor, the first basement floor and the second floor above ground were renovated. Mizutani Toshihiro Architectural Design Office was selected for the proposal in 2011. Maebashi City has formulated a basic plan for the revitalization of the city center. Plans are underway to utilize existing stock.
