Outline
This ossuary was newly constructed in the west precinct of Godayasan Chikurinji Temple, a temple of the Chizan sect of Shingon Buddhism in Kochi Prefecture. The approach to the ossuary is created by utilizing the existing path in the temple grounds and the difference in elevation of the site. The ossuary is made of fireproof reinforced concrete and roofed with a wooden shed made of prefectural timber. The pillars are made of 105 mm square Japanese cedar in a 1995 mm grid. The ceiling is also lined with the same wood.
