This wooden elementary school, one of the largest in Japan with a total floor area of approximately 7,500 m2 , was rebuilt to accommodate the aging of the school building and the increasing number of children in the area. The Summit HR construction method of Mitsui Sumisho Kenzai Kaisha, Ltd. was adopted for the wood two-way Rahmen structure, realizing a high ceiling and a large space with a maximum span of approximately 12 meters. Large-section laminated wood of Japanese larch is used. The pillars of the library are 600 x 600 mm and designed to be fire-resistant for 60 minutes.
