MOO ARCHITECT WORKSHOP
Outline
This nursery school is located in a residential area in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The project was to reconstruct and relocate the 40-year-old old building. The horseshoe-shaped building is placed around the school yard in a narrow site. The second floor, which is raised on a reinforced concrete base, is made of wood. The roof ridge is repeatedly raised and lowered to change the quality of the space in each nursery. The planes of the nursery rooms are bumpy and deformed, creating gaps and corners to create a place for the children.
