MAKI AND ASSOCIATES
Outline
A multi-purpose hall built in the "Garden of Waves" of the Natori City Cultural Hall (this issue 9809) designed by Maki and Associates. As part of the support for the disaster-stricken area by the Reinhard and Sonja Ernst Foundation of Germany, Natori City donated a facility that can be used by many citizens, from children to the elderly. The site of the hall was selected from the wave garden of the Natori City Cultural Center, which is located in the center of the city's 1,000 or so temporary housing units. The composition is created by combining two large roofs, one circular and the other crescent-shaped. The panels were made from lumber produced in Fukushima Prefecture at a factory in Fukushima and transported to the site.
