The New Therapy Research Institute is located in the National Institute of Radiological Sciences in Chiba, Japan. Treatment is performed using heavy particle beams from the HIMAC cancer treatment system, which is also located in the facility. In the medical space, there is a robotic treatment device developed especially for this facility, and the design of the monitors and devices is designed to minimize stress on the patient. The exterior walls are protected by greenery such as ivy and Ryukyu morning glory.
