CHIBA MANABU ARCHITECTS + SHINICHI OGAWA & ASSOCIATES + OFFICE OF RYUE NISHIZAWA
Outline
The building is a 101-unit reinforced concrete housing complex with one basement floor and five stories above ground. Manabu Chiba, Shinichi Ogawa, and Ryue Nishizawa were selected as the designers by Takagi Planning Office, which was selected through a competition. By dividing the building into three buildings, one on the east side (Chiba), one on the north side (Ogawa), and one on the west side (Nishizawa), the volume blends in with the townscape and creates a variety of housing units.
