The institute conducts basic research on materials related to innovative technologies such as catalysts, power generation, and energy storage, etc. The atrium connecting the two buildings has a layered exchange space. The two buildings are connected by an atrium with a tiered exchange space to promote exchanges between researchers, many of whom are from overseas. In addition, the institute is implementing 112 measures to promote environmental friendliness and exchange, including the use of environmentally friendly equipment that utilizes technology developed at the institute.
