Outline
This is an extension of the infant building of a kindergarten in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The level of the building is lowered to match the infants' line of sight from the central infant and nursing room, and the gallery and office are located in the recessed periphery. Twenty wall pillars are installed at the periphery of the building in the tangential and vertical directions to create a structure without walls on the periphery. The wooden louvers on the perimeter are placed at 360 mm intervals to control solar radiation.
