HIBIYA LIBRARY & MUSEUM RENEWAL
bookmark_outline
YOICHIRO HOSAKA ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES
Outline
The Hibiya Library was completed in 1957. With the transfer of the library from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to Chiyoda Ward, the library and museum were combined into the Hibiya Library and Culture Center, and its functions and facilities were renovated. While making the most of the existing triangular structure, new functions such as a café, restaurant, and exhibition room were added. Library books can be carried anywhere in the building for reading. The library was retrofitted for earthquake resistance in 2002.
