Outline
The square in front of the east exit of JR Kawasaki Station. A large L-shaped roof spans the station, and a suspended ceiling spans the line of traffic leading to the underground passage. In the left foreground is the central sunlight that casts light on the underground passage. The roofs with different heights of glass overlap each other, casting light like sunlight through trees. The construction work was carried out while the main staircase was in constant use for traffic to the underground shopping arcade and bus terminal. Therefore, the steel frame, glass, and ceiling materials were assembled on the platform on the plaza side, and then slid toward the station side at night.
