SANLITUN SOHO

Outline
This complex (commercial, office and residential) is located in the Sanlitun district, northeast of the National Palace Museum in Beijing. The site is adjacent to "Sanlitun Village" (0903), for which Kengo Kuma Architect & Associates was responsible for the master plan in 2008. 9 towers stand in a dispersed manner on a site of 51245m2. In order to "exteriorize the city" in the high-density urban planning, which tends to be confined indoors, the towers are slimmed down and pluralized, and the plan has an organic curved surface form to create a varied "three-dimensional alley" outside.
