The Tsunami Disaster Prevention Station is located at Fukura Port on the southern end of Awaji Island. A curved wall of steel plates with a series of six arcs in a plane intersects the station. The evacuation area is located at the height of the second floor or higher, where the tsunami is not expected to reach, and the necessary space is arranged functionally. The arc walls are made of steel plates divided into three heights, welded on site, and the joints are polished for a seamless finish.
