This school building was newly constructed as a result of the merger of elementary schools in the interior of northern Hokkaido. In order to make the most of the sense of family unity that only a small school can offer, the building is open plan, with no corridors and all learning spaces. Top lights are installed above the beams made of locally produced wood, which cast light throughout the deep interior.
